Churches are the most complicated spaces to tame. There are no short cuts to church sound. The information presented here just scratches the surface of how large rooms have layers of sound that creates either constructive or destructive reflections and energy management. Most of the information here is based on years of experience and thousands of hours studying, research and testing. Every church can have great acoustics and worship experience. Knowledge has taught us that whenever aesthetics is chosen over performance, the congregation loses out. Whenever worship space performance outweighs the aesthetics, everyone benefits.

Tillsonburg Alliance Church

Posted by jdbsound on December 3, 2019

Tillsonburg Alliance Church has completed an acoustical upgrade. Improvements include better congregational singing, less feedback in the sound system, easier to get a high quality mix for praise and worship, and when there was a power failure on a Sunday morning, as the pastor preached, everyone was able to hear just fine.

The layout of the acoustical treatment was created by church members who wanted to make the stage area unique. Designing such patterns are possible without giving up on performance. If you look at the longer diffusers, in this case, they are closer together to make up for the smaller diffusers that create a unique visual experience. The results says it all.
